STI Testing & Results
Choosing a test is one step. Understanding the result and getting appropriate follow-up matter just as much.

Tests should fit your circumstances
A clinician considers symptoms, exposures, previous results and timing before recommending screening. Relevant samples may include blood, urine or swabs from specific sites. Tell the clinician about the concern you want assessed.
Home collection or local laboratory
The roadmap includes both medically appropriate home collection and local laboratory pathways. A mailed kit is not suitable for every test or situation. Collection instructions, sample return, failed samples and expected timing need to be explained before testing.
Results need context
A negative result may not rule out an infection when testing occurs too early. Ask when repeat testing is appropriate. Do not assume that a lack of symptoms means testing is unnecessary, or that a result by itself replaces a clinical assessment.
A positive result needs a next step
The planned pathway includes clinician discussion, confirmation when needed, treatment or referral, and relevant partner guidance. Some treatments require an in-person visit. Care outside the service’s scope should have a clear referral route.
Before you choose a testing service
Ask who orders the tests, how results are delivered, who contacts you about abnormal findings, and how to reach a clinician. OnlyMenHealth’s laboratory partners, turnaround times and results workflow are not yet confirmed.
